Don’t flush your money down the drain.
Water charges are due to commence next autumn which means the first bills should arrive early January 2015. Some of us are currently enduring water restrictions in our homes and are becoming accustomed to less water being available to us in the evenings.
Local Property Tax, due before its time
We have already endured the pain of half a years property tax in the year 2013. According to an article I read in the Irish Independent today, the revenue will be requesting payment from those households who choose to pay their Local Property Tax using cheque, debit card or credit card on or before 1st January 2014. Managing your household budget is like managing a business
I smiled as I read an article in the Irish Independent last week entitled “Calling all female entrepreneurs… this is your time to shine”. I read on, where it stated that in November the inspirational women of Ireland with commercial power will be celebrated at the seventh annual IMAGE Businesswomen of the Year Awards this November.

This jar was stored in a press in her tiny kitchen and it was the jar of plenty. The only hands allowed to dip into that Jar was that of Granny. She really knew how to budget and manage money well. We all know what Barney says but for the benefit of those that don’t, Barney says “Sharing is Caring”. Not only are children being thought a great life lesson on television but you should encourage this in the home also. Apart from the obvious, getting the kids to share their toys with their siblings and friends while they are playing, there is another way on instilling this life lesson and it will save you money. Energy bills rising and additional charges, its time to start saving.
With the announcement of more energy increases, is it any wonder that the middle income earner has become a thing of the past. Middle income earners have been squeezed so much that between the additional charges and the increases in taxes, they are now in the low income bracket.

Its all talk about Budget 2014 – so what’s yours like
With just over a couple of weeks to go to Budget 2014, there are all sorts of rumours and leaks but none of us actually know what will be in this one. All talk of a softer blow but we are still preparing for the worst.
